Layers and Depths in Flash

what is a depth in Flash (actionscript)? !! We know Layers are there in Flash to stack up the graphics and actionscript does not provide anything to deal with layers instead it talk about depths.
I would like to add some tips here.
While “Layers” give you a stacking order of your graphics inside your Flash IDE or authoring environment, you can not create them at runtime 😦 . So, what you can create to stack up things at runtime ? The answer is Depth. Depth is same kind of stacking as layers but you can create and have controll over them at run time. Unfortunately you can not create depths inside your Flash IDE or authoring time 😦 .
Even if your movieclips reside on different layers inside your Flash file at authoring time, you can make them come to top or go below others, by using swapDepths() method.
